Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
-Dr. MLK Jr.
Sacred are the moments in which we have sensed God’s presence communicating to our hearts His honorable plans for our lives. Yet, the day after we often wonder, “Did I really hear from God? If I am loved and favored then why do I now feel so un-supernatural? Did I talk myself into believing God was going to do something great in me? For I truly don’t see the slightest glimpse of that which I believed He declared in that holy moment of time.”
You are not alone in these questions that arise after God-encounters. They were also asked by Sarah, Gideon and Peter. So what’s the remedy? Wrestle with your doubts but don’t submit to them. Struggle with your questions, but answer them with the Word of God not with man’s reasoning.
Things conceived at high moments of faith still have to be carried through long seasons of waiting. It is in these moments that we rest in His sovereign grace that made the promise; and His omnipotent power that will bring it to pass.
That’s the remedy for…
the day after.
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for
He who promised is faithful.”
